Timony Announcements

February 1

posted Feb 1, 2019, 8:54 AM by Timothy Miller

Good Evening Timony Families,

We've made it through a brutally cold week, let's hope the groundhog tells us that winter is almost over!

The PTO school store will be open this week and we have new supplies!!  Items typically range from $0.25 - $3.00 but we do have a few special items at $4.00 and $5.00 this month. The store will be open Thursday 2/7 for Upper School students and Friday 2/8 for Lower School students.  This month's PTO Meeting will be held Tuesday 2/12 @ 6pm in the Teacher’s Lounge and they'd love to see many new faces. Come and help them support our school!

As some of you know, Timony Upper School Bus 1 and Bus 15, often arrive late to school.  The bus company is working to improve that situation for students. In order to do this, they are starting all bus runs on buses 1 and 15, ten minutes early starting on Monday, February 4th, 2019.  It is important that your child is at their stop at least 10 minutes earlier than in the past so they do not miss the bus. Again, this change is beginning on Monday, February 4th, 2019 and only affects Upper School Students on buses 1 and 15.  Thank you for attention to this important matter.

Our Lower School parking lot, in the morning, is becoming unsafe.  If you are dropping your child off please go the Upper School side of the building.  The line moves quickly and there are always staff on duty. If you choose to walk your child to the Lower School Entrance then you MUST park in a designated space and walk with them to the door.  Dropping them in the parking lot is very dangerous. Also, the loop is for buses only. Do not drive through the loop to drop off your child. I have asked Officer McMenamon to be on that side of the building this week.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Let's enjoy the weekend as the weather gets a little warmer!

GO PATS! and have a fantastic evening!

Buenas tardes familias Timony,

Venga y ayude a apoyar a nuestra escuela!

hijo (a).

¡VAMOS PATS! Y que tengan una noche fantástica!

Good afternoon Timony families.  I hope that everyone is ready for our first winter storm this weekend.  Try to rest and stay warm.

The PTO is having a PJ / Hat day on Friday 1/25. If you’d like to wear PJs or a hat, please bring in $1. If you’d like to wear both, please bring in $2.  They are also collecting Box Tops! A flyer went home with details of how classes can earn end of year prizes and the Box Top Trophy!! The PTO will be periodically collecting box tops throughout the year, so start clipping and saving!! Please remember to check the expiration dates and write your teachers name on the bag or envelope when you send them in. Check out the PTO Facebook page for updates on classroom totals and pictures of their ‘Box Tops Race’ bulletin board! Students will be able to track their classes progress around the race track! Please submit your first batch of box tops to your teachers by Friday 2/1. Thank you for supporting our students and school!!

Starting this Wednesday, students in grades 5-8 can play different games such as basketball, wall ball, or tag, etc during open gym.  They can enter through the gym doors starting at 6:45 am.  This program goes until 7:30am.  Please contact Mrs. Hoffman if you any questions at cnhoffman@methuen.k12.ma.us.

I want remind lower school families that parent drop off in the morning is on the upper school side of the building.  Dropping students on the other side is dangerous with buses coming and going.  Only those parents who choose to park and walk their children to the door should be on the lower school side of the building in the morning.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Thank you and have a fantastic evening.
