Good evening Timony families, this is Mr. Miller.  I hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend.  It’s hard to believe spring will officially start on Monday and on Tuesday, the PTO will have their monthly meeting at 6pm in our teacher’s cafe.

First, this Wednesday, March 22 report cards will be issued and teachers have scheduled conferences this week.  If you have a time scheduled, please try to stay on schedule as the teachers have many parents to see.

Please mark your calendars for Thursday March 23rd from 5:30- 7:30 PM.  The Timony PTO is hosting a Free Family Bingo Night in the Upper School Cafe.  Admission is free, games are free, and pizza, popcorn, drinks will be available for purchase.  Please help support our PTO at this fun event.  Friday, March 24th is an early dismissal day.  Upper school students will be dismissed at 11:15 and Lower school students will be dismissed at 11:45.  Please be sure to make arrangements for your children as staff will be unable to stay after dismissal.

We have a very exciting event Friday, March 24th from 6-8pm.  Our Western Barn Dance for cowgirls in grades k-4 and a special rancher of their choice.  Tickets are on sale- $20 for 1 cowgirl and adult guest and $5 for each additional cowgirl.  We will have a DJ and a Photo booth this should be very fun event I hope to see you there.  Please ask your teacher for tickets if you haven’t already purchased yours.

Good evening Timony families, this is Mr. Miller.  I hope that everyone remembered the time change this weekend, don’t forget to spring forward one hour.  Please take a moment to check your child’s backpack as on Friday a flyer regarding make up dates for Kindergarten was sent home.  This information is also on our website.  Our PTO is meeting this Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the teachers’ lounge and on Thursday, March 16th we will be hosting our annual Read Across America event.  Take a moment on Thursday to ask your child who their guest reader was.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Thank you and have a fantastic evening.

**Kindergarten Registraion Make-up Dates** 4/11, 5/3, 6/8

There will be three make up dates if you were unable to attend the Kindergarten Registration for your school.

Registration is the Central Administration Building, 10 Ditson Place, Methuen, MA 01844.


9am-11am 12pm-2pm 6pm-8pm

Tuesday, April 11th

Wednesday, May 3rd

Thursday, June 8th

In order to be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 on or before September 1, 2017. First grade children must be 6 on or before September 1, 2017. A birth certificate must be presented at the time of registration. Only children not currently enrolled in kindergarten in Methuen Public Schools will need to register for first grade at this time.

Proof of Methuen residency must be provided. Parents/Guardians will need to submit one of the following: a signed Purchase and Sales Agreement for home/current mortgage statement, a signed lease agreement for rental property, or a current real estate tax bill. Parents/Guardians also need to submit one of the following electric bill, gas bill, land line phone bill, or a water bill. These bills must be unpaid and current. Parents/Guardians must complete a certification of address form, which must be signed by the landlord or homeowner and the parent or legal guardian.

Parents must also present proof that their child was screened for lead poisoning. Those who have not been screened should do so before starting school in September. Children entering kindergarten must present proof of a vision screening including stereopsis done by their physician according to Massachusetts protocols. Other documentation necessary for registration is a current physical exam (within 12 months) and proof of adequate immunization (5 DTP, 4 Polio, 2 MMR, 3 Hepatitis B and 2 Varicella (chickenpox) or history of disease documented by a physician). No child will be registered without proof of immunization. Registration information is available on our website and at each school building.

Children whose first language is not English need to be present during kindergarten registration for a language screening.
