September 2019

I am very excited to get the new school year underway at the D.P. Timony Grammar School. Overall, we have had a very smooth opening,  The kids, parents and staff have been great! Check out some of the stuff already happening!

  • Open houses will be happening September 4th and 5th.  Grades 1-4 will have open house on 9/4, and grades 5-8 will be have open house on 9/5.  Please see the school website for more details. Teachers are excited to meet their new families at open houses!

  • Teachers arrived at school to find a wealth of new materials!

MPS will be implementing new reading programs 1-6.  The district decided on two very comprehensive, researched based programs: Wonders for grades K-4, and My View for grades 5 and 6.  They received professional development over the summer and are ready to start the new programs. Also, we have begun our 1:1 chromebook rollout in grades 3-8.  All 3-8 students were assigned their own, personal chromebook to use for the year! Students and teachers are thrilled to have these materials and technologies.

  • We had a great start to school!  Preschool and Kindergarten students began on September 4th.  The building is now full with students from preK-8. It is a busy place!

  • Two PTO notes to keep in mind:

    • The first PTO meeting will be held on 9/10 in the Dragon’s Lair at 6:00 pm.  All are welcome.

    • The PTO fundraiser kickoff will be held on 9/14.  The Fundraiser will be run from 9/14-9/28.

We are off to a great start!

Spring 2019

Spring has arrived at the Timony and it's getting busier by the minute.  The drama club will be presenting their annual musical.  This year it will be Once On This Island, one of my personal favorites.  The students will be starting the MCAS testing  this month and I'm confident they will do great.  On May 23 the PTO will host the annual Spring Social which is always a huge event.  After these events and more we will be near the end of a fantastic school year.  If you have never been to any of the wonderful events held here you should make a point to stop in.  The Timony School Community is a close knit family that takes great pride in our students and their accomplishments.

Come and join us as we move forward through the school year and have a Fan-Timony-tastic day!!!

August, 2018

Welcome to the 2018-19 school year!  We are very excited about all of the possibilities that this year holds.  Throughout the summer, the administrative, clerical and custodial teams have been hard at work preparing for what promises to be another great year.  Teachers will begin to return next week to prepare their classrooms for the students who will be arriving in a few short weeks.  We will be hosting a tour for those families that are new to the Timony School community nn Wednesday, August 22 at 1:00 PM.  I will be leading a tour for all new first through eighth grade families.  We hope this gives everyone an opportunity to become a little more comfortable with their new school.  Also on that day, Ms. Durkee will hold an informational session for all new fifth grade families.  It is a big step to move to the upper school and we want it to go as smoothly as possible.

Our building will be ready, our wonderful staff will be ready and I'm certain that our students will be ready!  I am looking forward to seeing the many faces of the students and families that make the Timony what it is.  I've listed some important dates below and hope to see many of you at these events.  Enjoy the remainder of your summer as we finish preparing for a fantastic school year.

Autumn 2016

Autumn is in the air.  The days are shorter, the colors are vibrant and the Timony family is moving forward toward successful outcomes.   We have created a new parent welcome and information area in both lower and upper schools.  This gives a comfortable, welcoming place to wait for appointments or complete paperwork.  This area also has a board with important information for our school community.  Be sure to check it out the next time you're in our building.
The PBIS team has completed their first monthly review of the discipline data.  Comparing these early results to data from last year shows that the system is working.  We will continue to review and improve our behavioral system to help make the Timony School a safe and productive place for our students.
We have some important events this fall beginning with the PTO's Annual Fall Festival on Thursday, October 20th.  Please check out the list below for other important dates and remember to check back to this website for updates.
