Next week is Book Fair at the Tenney. Our media center teachers are hosting the event which runs each day. Parents are invited to attend during Parent Conferences.
Book Fair Begins
Hello Tenney families, this is Mary Beth Donovan with your call about the week ahead. Three things: Signed report card envelopes are due back to teachers Wednesday. Thanks Parents for sending them in as soon as possible. They were distributed last week. 2. The new Spring line of Tenney Gear is in! Check out the order forms sent home or on the Tenney Grammar PTO website. Deadline for orders is April 13. 3. Please join us for a night of brains, fun and community when our Tenney 7th and 8th graders take on our CGS friends in the Academic Bowl competition, Thursday at 6 pm. I hope to see you there - winners will move on to a final Jeopardy style city-wide competition in June.
Hi Tenney families, this is supervising principal Mary Beth Donovan with a reminder that tomorrow is a half day. Upper school dismisses at 11:15 and lower at 11:45 am. Report cards were sent home Wednesday and we look forward to seeing you at Parent Conferences tomorrow afternoon. And don't forget, because it is a half day, it's Hat Day. For $1, your child can wear a hat in school. All proceeds will help fund our end of the year celebrations hosted by the PTO!
Hello Tenney families. This is Mary Beth Donovan with your call about the week ahead. Four quick things: 1. Our Book Fair is extended until March 21, thanks to our snow days. 2. Report cards will be issued Wednesday and should be returned signed to us by the following Wednesday. 3 Parent conferences are Friday, a half day, with upper school dismissal at 11:15 am and lower at 11:45 am.You should have received notices about conferences and if you have not, please call our respective offices. 4. Spring Tenney gear is on sale now. Please check out the order forms that are going home this week with information about the latest items available to dress for Tenney success!

Hi everyone, this is Mary Beth Donovan, supervising principal with a quick midweek call. I hope you all are safe, warm and shoveled out! I want to remind you about Parent Palooza tomorrow at 6 pm in our Upper School. Take a mini yoga class to de-stress, shop at our Book Fair, hear a story and do a craft with our friends from the Nevins, learn all about some great summer programs being offered here and more. Your child may participate with you. At 7 pm, join our fabulous PTO for a meeting as we plan events for the end of the year for your child. One more thing - we are rescheduling class pictures which were set for tomorrow because of the snow days. I'll let you know the new day soon.

Hello Tenney families, this is Mary Beth Donovan, supervising principal, with news about the week ahead. Here's is what's happening. All week long, our Book Fair is on! Children will have a chance to visit. Thursday, March 16 class pictures will be taken. We also host Parent Palooza, Thursday night at 6 pm. Come have some fun at school, do some shopping at the Book fair and Tenney Gear table, take a mini yoga class, enjoy a read-aloud and craft with folks from the Nevins Library and learn about ways you can support your child and make life easier for you! Then join our Fabulous PTO for a meeting and hear about the big plans for the end of the year at 7 pm. And, if you missed kindergarten registration make up dates are set for April 11, May 3 and June 8th at our new parent center at Ditson Place. Details about everything can be found in your child's backpack and on our Tenney PTO website! And on't forget, we turned clocks back this morning!
Hello Tenney , this is Mary Beth Donovan with your Sunday night call . First a big thank you for the kindness shared during Kindness Week. Our Food Pantry is restocked, our students have more books to read and we all enjoyed the activities of the week. Parents, if you received a green slip for your respect for safety during drop off, send it in with a your child tomorrow so you wll be entered in our gift card drawing. Please check your child's backpack for information about MCAS dates, some reminders for Spring and more. And the big news this week: The annual Dollars for Scholars Telethon Wednesday and Thursday 6 to 9 pm at Methuen High. Come on down or watch the fun on television. So many of our Tenney children benefit from this great program. And looking ahead, for the following week, our annual Book fair begins March 13 and we host the first Parent Palooza on March 16 at 6 pm. More details to come!

Hello Tenney families, this is supervising principal, Mary Beth Donovan, with your Sunday night call. I hope you all had a great, relaxing vacation. We look forward to seeing our students back at work. And to celebrate our return, we host Kindness Week starting tomorrow. Every day this week, we will work with our students for a better understanding of the power of kindness. Please check the flyer we sent home before vacation or the Tenney PTO Facebook page for details. Highlights include Be Kind Your Community Day on Wednesday. Wear Your Ranger Blue and donate a perishable food items like breakfast bars, cereal and single serve mac and cheese. Thursday is Be Kind to an Adult Day. Students can dress like the adult they admire. Friday, Be Kind to Your School. Wear your Tenney Gear and donate a gently used children's book to our Book Pantry.
And remember, Wednesday, March 1 is our kindergarten registration at our new Family Resource Center at the Central School, 10 Ditson Place.
Good evening Tenney parents, this is Mary Beth Donovan, supervising principal, with a quick call. Tomorrow is Hat Day, for $1, your child can wear a hat for the day and your donation will support our PTO-sponsored Fun Day. Our 8th graders continue their carnation sales tomorrow during lunches. I hope you'll support them as all proceeds go towards 8th grade activities. Our 7th and 8th grade students face off in our first round of Academic Bowl competitions tomorrow. Good luck everyone. And finally, I hope our entire Tenney family enjoys vacation next week. rest up, relax and read. There's lots of important information in your child's backpack today - including information about Tenney Kindness Week which begins Monday, Feb. 27 when we return. Happy vacation everyone!

Seventh graders, your field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts tomorrow is on , so please make sure you are ready and on time to school. It's going to be a fabulous day!
On Thursday, February 16, addiction specialist, Dr. Ruth Potee, will be at Methuen High Auditorium at 7 pm to talk about addiction and the effects of drugs on the adolescent brain. Please join us.
Our plans for Kindness Week have been postponed for the week after vacation. Parents, please check backpacks, the PTO website and our Tenney page on the Methuen Public School website for details as the week progresses. We will draw the Tenney ROCKS winners of our official Super Bowl championship hats this week. And all can wear our hats in school Friday for $1. It's Whole Day Hat Day! All proceeds will support our epic PTO sponsored Funday.
