Hello Tenney families, this is Mary Beth Donovan, supervising principal with the first Sunday night call for June. The school year is almost over! This week, we hope everyone will join in the fun during Spirit Week! Every day has a theme  - check out the fliers we sent home and the Tenney Grammar School PTO website - and send in a non-perishable  food item or a dollar to help us in our efforts to stock our food pantry.  Our Chorus Concert is set for Wednesday at 7 pm in our auditorium, the city-wide Academic Bowl is Thursday at 6:30 pm in the Methuen High Auditorium (our Team Hogwarts will represent the Tenney!) and folks from the Nevins library will be visiting our classes to talk about summer reading programs.
We may be nearing the end of the  school year, but we are still working hard on learning. Here's to a great week ahead.

May 21 Call

Hi Tenney families,

This is Mary Beth Donovan with your Sunday night call.  Just a few things : On Tuesday and Wednesday, our Grade 5 and 8 students take MCAS science.  We have had such great attendance, punctuality and effort. I am very proud of our students and staff  for their MCAS testing attitude. We will finish strong. Friday is a half day.  Upper school dismissal is 11:15; Lower 11:45. And half day means Hat Day!  Your child can wear a hat all day long with a $1 donation to the PTO. It's the last Half Day Hat Day of the year and all the money raised will support our Fun Days set for June.
And a reminder. No school next Monday as we mark Memorial Day and those who died while serving in our country's armed forces.

May 16 Tuesday Night Call

posted May 16, 2017, 12:53 PM by Mary Beth Donovan-Grassi

Hi Tenney families, this is Mary Beth Donovan with a call on this lovely Tuesday night!  A few important things: MCAS continues tomorrow for our 3rd and 7th graders. Tomorrow, they take the second and last math test. And Thursday and Friday our 4th and 8th graders  take the math tests on computers, which is a first for our school. Parents,  you have done a great job getting your children to school on time on testing days and ready to show what they know. Thank you so much for that and I know you will keep up the good work! And speaking of good work, our fabulous PTO  meets Thursday night at 7 in our staff lounge. It's time to elect the officers for next year.  If your child has gone on a field trip, been treated to breakfast during MCAS testing, is looking forward to Fun Day, it's because the PTO has made these things happen.  You are invited to be part of this wonderful, caring community. I hope to see you Thursday night. And finally, our Upper School will host a mini Relay for Life Friday afternoon to raise awareness for cancer research and honor those who have battled cancer. If your child would like to make a $1 donation, we will send it to the city-wide Relay for Life held this weekend.
