Hi Tenney families, this is Mary Beth Donovan with a call on this lovely Tuesday night!  A few important things: MCAS continues tomorrow for our 3rd and 7th graders. Tomorrow, they take the second and last math test. And Thursday and Friday our 4th and 8th graders  take the math tests on computers, which is a first for our school. Parents,  you have done a great job getting your children to school on time on testing days and ready to show what they know. Thank you so much for that and I know you will keep up the good work! And speaking of good work, our fabulous PTO  meets Thursday night at 7 in our staff lounge. It's time to elect the officers for next year.  If your child has gone on a field trip, been treated to breakfast during MCAS testing, is looking forward to Fun Day, it's because the PTO has made these things happen.  You are invited to be part of this wonderful, caring community. I hope to see you Thursday night. And finally, our Upper School will host a mini Relay for Life Friday afternoon to raise awareness for cancer research and honor those who have battled cancer. If your child would like to make a $1 donation, we will send it to the city-wide Relay for Life held this weekend.

Hello Tenney families, this is Mary Beth Donovan, supervising  principal, with your Sunday night call.  First and most importantly, a big thank you to students staff , moms, dads and guardians who made our MCAS ELA testing so successful. As we  wrap up this first testing session, I am happy to report we will have 100 participation in testing. In other words, every student eligible to take the test will have taken all sessions. Attendance and punctuality on testing days were record-breaking and shows us just how much our kids and families care about and respect their education.  Our students worked very hard and we will use the information from their tests to direct our teaching. And thank you PTO for providing breakfast to every child on testing days.
We have a week off before math and science testing begins on May 9. Please check out our website for the dates.
Our Grades 4 and 8 deserve a special shout out as they made history, taking the first Computer Based MCAS testing in our school.  It went great!
And on Wednesday, we will be distributing  progress reports. Thank you signing and returning them by Monday, May 8. If you don't receive your child's progress reports, please contact our offices.
I hope you have a great night, see you tomorrow and thank you again for your wonderful support and your hard-working children!
