Sunday Night Call - Jan. 28

posted Jan 26, 2018, 2:05 PM by Mary Beth Donovan-Grassi   [ updated Jan 26, 2018, 2:14 PM ]

Hello Tenney families, this is Mary Beth Donovan, supervising principal, with your Sunday night call. I hope you had a chance to look over your child’s Progress Report which was handed out Friday. Please return the envelope signed to your child’s teacher by Thursday. Please call our upper or lower school offices if you have any questions.

The district had over 180 students interested in the STEAM after school enrichment program for grades 3-8 with only 36 available spots. The selected participants were contacted by the community programs office on Friday.  We are currently planning more programming for the summer and during the school years to come and are exited to provide more opportunities for our students.

And finally, we are looking to add to our Heroes Wall. We invite our students to bring in pictures of their family members who have served our country in the military. Include the name  of the serviceman or woman and any other information about his or her military career. We are proud of  our community's  ties to the Armed Forces and want our students to be as well. Send pics and information to the school offices. And know we are planning our annual Tenney Salutes Our Veterans Dinner and we are looking for special guests. More to come!

And Friday, Jan. 26, Progress Reports go home.  We are halfway through  the  second semester!

Sunday Night Call - Jan 15

posted Jan 15, 2018, 6:39 AM by Mary Beth Donovan-Grassi

Hello Tenney families, here are three things we need to know about the week ahead.
1. No school tomorrow as we commemorate Martin Luther King Day.
2. Students in grade 7 will be administered an anonymous survey related to substance use on Thursday, January 18. This survey is being used as part of a research study in partnership with Boston Children's Hospital to evaluate the impact of Methuen's substance use prevention efforts. Students can opt-out of the survey on their own or parents can opt-out their son/daughter by contacting the guidance department of their son's/daughter's school.
3. Our Fabulous PTo meets on Thursday at  7 pm in our staff room. Please join us for the first meeting of  2018.
