2016 Summer Reading

ENGLISH

May 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am thrilled to announce our school-wide program geared toward making summer reading
meaningful and enjoyable while cultivating a sense of community through and engaging
learning experience shared by students and staff.

Thanks to the 89 teachers who selected books to read and discuss with students this fall,
we are proud to offer students more than 70 titles from which to choose.  From our
extensive list, students are expected to select one book to read over the summer.  In lieu of
a formal assessment, students will meet with the designated teacher and a group of their
peers to discuss the book during a session scheduled for the morning of Tuesday,
September 27.

Students enrolled in AP courses should be aware that their teachers may assign summer
reading texts in addition to the school-wide selection.
