Ten Students Advance to Finals of MHS Poetry Out Loud Competition

The semifinal round of Methuen High School’s inaugural Poetry Out Loud competition was conducted by the English Department on Wednesday, January 17 and Thursday, January 18. With one student representing each English class, 67 brave and talented competitors recited memorized poems in front of their teachers and peers. The judging panel, comprised of English teachers and Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Kwong, used national contest guidelines to select 10 students to advance to the final round where our Methuen High School champion will be determined.
