Moment of Silence to Honor Those Affected on September 11, 2001

This morning at 8:46 a.m. Methuen High School observed a moment of silence:

"I would like to take a moment this morning to stop what we are doing and focus on this important announcement. This weekend, on Sunday, September 11, 2016, our nation will mark its fifteenth anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attacks in United States history. In Massachusetts, the sorrow of 9/11 was intensified as we mourned 206 victims with local ties. Since 2001, that sense of loss has grown, as we have grieved over 200 Fallen Heroes who have died in active duty military service. At this time I ask that everyone observe a moment of silence in honor of all those affected on September 11, 2001, and all those Fallen Heroes we have lost in active duty."

Thank you to all those who keep us safe each day.
