On Thursday, January 11, 2018, the Methuen High School DECA club participated in the District 3 Conference held at Merrimack College. Thirty-four MHS students competed against students from area schools in various business, finance, marketing, and accounting events. Our club had great success with several students finishing in the top five:
  • Henry Nguyen - 3rd Place - Principles of Business Management and Administration
  • Samuel Mousa - 5th Place - Principles of Business Management and Administration
  • Sam Delap - 2nd Place - Principles of Finance
  • Aksh Dave - 5th Place - Principles of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Talia Harvey - 3rd Place - Restaurant and Food Service Management
  • Dev Khambhati - 1st Place - Financial Consulting
  • Matthew Fahey & Francesco Tondo - 4th Place - Financial Services Team Decision Making
  • Faye Viscosi & Angela Mansour - 3rd Place - Marketing Communications Team Decision Making
  • Brett Blackwell & Aidan Foley - 5th Place - Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making
  • Priyank Patel, Tom Bolduc, & Sam Bolduc - 5th Place - Financial Literacy Promotion Project
  • Haley Hamilton & Sam Cook - 4th Place - Creative Marketing Plan
Each of the students mentioned above have qualified to compete at the Massachusetts DECA State Career Development Conference held in March at the Marriott Copley Hotel in Boston. Along with the students who qualified, the MHS DECA program will bring a team of four members to compete in the DECA Quiz Bowl tournament.

Thank you to DECA advisors, Jason Symmes and Danielle McLeod, for your outstanding work with students, and congratulations to the thirty-four students who represented MHS in this regional competition.
