On Thursday, January 5, 2017, the Methuen High School DECA club participated in the District 3 Conference held at Merrimack College. Thirty MHS students competed against students from area schools in various business, finance, marketing, and accounting events. The club had great success with several students finishing in the top five: Dev Khambhatia finished fifth in Hotel and Lodging Managing Series; Connor Dickson finished fourth in Business Service Marketing Series; Priyank Patel finished third in Accounting Applications Series; Shawna O'Leary and Sophie Derepentigny finished third in Business and Merchandising Team Decision Making; Nika Nguyen finished second in Marketing Management Series; and Christian Rosado finished second in Professional Selling and Consulting.

Each of the students mentioned above have qualified to compete at the Massachusetts DECA State Career Development Conference held in March at the Marriott Copley Hotel in Boston. Along with the students who qualified, the MHS DECA program will also bring a team of four members to compete in the DECA Quiz Bowl tournament.

Congratulations to all thirty students who represented MHS in the regional competition.
