On Thursday, January 7, the Methuen High School DECA club participated in their regional competition at Merrimack College. Thirty-one MHS students competed against students from area schools in several different business related categories including marketing, accounting, finance and business services. The club had great success with several first place finishes and other high finishes: Haley Hamilton and Ryan Hamilton finished first in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing category, Sam Branchaud finished first in the Restaurant and Food Services Marketing category, Priyank Patel finished first in the Business Finance Services category, Keagan Lannon finished third in the Apparel and Accessories Marketing category, and Alexandra Doyle finished third in the Franchise Business Plan category.

All of the students that finished in the top 4 in their category will have an opportunity to compete at the Massachusetts State Conference and Competition in March at the Copley Marriott Hotel in Boston. Along with the students that qualified the MHS DECA program will also be able to bring a team of 4 members to compete in the DECA Quiz Bowl tournament.

Congratulations to all thirty-one students who competed in the regional competition.
