On Monday, May 21, teachers will provide grade ten students with essential information for the MCAS Math testing scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24. On Wednesday (Session 1), students are not allowed to use a calculator, and on Thursday (Session 2), students are allowed to use a calculator. School calculators will be available, however, students are encouraged to bring a calculator that they are comfortable using. As a reminder, it is important that all students get eight hours of sleep each night and have a healthy breakfast each morning. Students are expected to report to their assigned testing room before 7:05 a.m. Also, the use of cell phones and other electronic devices during testing for any purpose is prohibited. Scores will be invalidated if electronic devices are used. I encourage all families to take a few moments before testing to discuss these topics with your student. Most importantly, I wish grade ten students the best throughout testing and hope each student achieves our school-wide goal of proficient or advanced scores.
