March News

Let’s hope that the weather continues to be this nice for the rest of the year.  So many things are happening in our wonderful school.  Here are some updates from the Lower School:

• Kindergarten registration will be held on Wednesday, March 8th throughout the day (and from 6-8 that evening) at the beautiful Family Resource Center in the Central building.  We are so excited to welcome new parents and students to the CGS family!!

• Students in grades PreK-2 will enjoy science enrichment programs in the auditorium on March 7th.  Grades PreK and 1 will participate in “Bubbleology,” while grade 2 will participate in the “Wild about Weather” program.

• Later this month, our amazing KIDS’ CANCER CLUB will be selling LUCKY pencils to support their fundraising efforts.  We are so proud of their amazing dedication and hard work.

• The 3rd grade team will facilitate a Breadloaf writing program on the evening of March 21st from 6:00- 7:30.  This family event will provide an opportunity for all participants to engage in writing activities.  It is a great time to interact with families and share writing pieces!

• Report cards will be issued on March 22nd.  Parent conferences will be held on March 24th.

Please also remember that we are gearing up for the new MCAS 2.0, which will be starting in April.  Grades 4 and 8 will be taking the MCAS online for the first time this year, so we are busy preparing the kids for that new format.  A schedule of the testing dates is almost complete and will be coming home in the next few weeks.

Noticias de Marzo

Esperamos que el clima continúe agradable por el resto del año. Muchas cosas están ocurriendo en nuestra maravillosa escuela.  Aquí les tenemos algunas informaciones para la Primaria:

• La registración para Kindergarten será el Miércoles, 8 de Marzo durante en día (y de 6-8 esa noche) en el lindo Centro de Recursos Familiar en el edificio central.  Estamos muy emocionados de darle la bienvenida a los nuevos padres y estudiantes a la familia de la CGS!!

• Los estudiantes en los grados  PreK-2 disfrutarán de programas de enriquecimiento de Ciencia en el auditorio el 7 de Marzo.  El Grado PreK y 1 participarán en “Bubbleology,” mientras el grado 2 participará en el programa “Wild about Weather”.

• Luego más tarde este mes, nuestros maravillosos niños del  CLUB DE CÁNCER estarán vendiendo lápices de la SUERTE como un esfuerzo para recaudar fondos .  Estamos muy orgullosos por su maravillosa dedicación y arduo trabajo.

• El equipo de el grado 3 facilitará un programa de escritura a Breadloaf en la tarde de Marzo 21 de 6:00- 7:30.  Este evento  familiar proveerá la oportunidad para todos los participantes envolverse en actividades de escritura.  Este es un buen tiempo para interactuar con las familias y compartir piezas de escritura!

• Las tarjetas de Reporte serán emitidas el 22 de Marzo.  La conferencia de Padres será el 24 de Marzo.

Por favor recuerde que estamos preparándonos para el nuevo MCAS 2.0, que estará dando inicio en Abril.  Los Grados 4 y 8 estarán tomando los MCAS en la computadora por primera vez este año, por tal razón estamos muy ocupados preparando los estudiantes  para este nuevo formato.  Un calendario con las fechas para los exámenes está casi listo y estará llegando a su casa en las próximas semanas.
