JUNE Update

June is a very busy month!     There are barely three weeks left of school, and you know they will fly by.  Here are a few happenings from the Upper and Lower Schools:

  • The Nevins library staff will deliver grade level workshops to inspire our students to continue reading during the summer.   We are thankful to have this community partner.

  • 4th grade students will complete their discoveries of prey/predator relationships by attending an in-school presentation on Birds of Prey.

  • One of the 4th grade teachers (Ms. Licciardi), who happens to be a beekeeper, will demonstrate the delicate process of caring for these important insects to the grade level.  Live bees will not be used in the demonstration.

  • Kindergarten students are excited to visit the Franklin Park Zoo as a culmination to their animal research projects!

  • The CGS Walkathon will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Kids’ Cancer Club.  This year, the club will be donating to a CGS family, suffering from a recent loss.

  • Olympian Jimmy Pedro will visit the 2nd grade to share his keys to success.  He will bring other Judo Champions with him to demonstrate their talents.

  • Nevins Library Summer Reading Group for grades 5, 6 and 7, June 1-3

  • Spring Band Concert on June 1

  • Family Fitness Night on June 2

  • Hampton Beach 20+ Book Club Trip for grades 7 and 8 on June 3

  • MHS Move up Day for grade 8 on June 6

  • Skateland 20+ Book Club Trip for grades 5 and 6 on June 9

  • Spirit of Boston Cruise for grade 8 on June 13

  • Upper School Picnic on June 14, Lower School Picnic on June 13th

  • Chunky's Movie Field Trip for grade 8 on June 15

  • Canobie Lake Park Field Trip for grade 8 on June 16

  • Final Assembly for grade 8 at 6:00 PM in the CGS Gymnasium

  • Boo-hoo Breakfast for grade 8 on June 20

With so much going on, it will be important to check backpacks and listen for messages.  Do not hesitate to call if you have questions.
