from the CGS

We are officially half way through the year!  MCAS will be starting soon, so I will be sure to get the schedule out in the next few weeks. Here are some happenings from around the building…

• The second annual  “CGS BESTival” was held on January 26th.  It was a huge success! Students and parents participated in story reading, BINGO games and other physical activities.  Our fantastic chorus had a great performance! The commitment of staff, students and volunteers definitely showed that CGS is the BEST!

• Friday, February 8th is a POPCORN day!  Students love the opportunity to purchase a treat, and enjoy an activity which teaches them about money.

• School is closed for Winter recess from  2/18- 2/22.

• The Mobile Dentist will see CGS patients on Wednesday February 27th.

• On February 4th there will be a PTO meeting at 6:00 in the Media Center.

From the Lower School….

• Preschool Applications are available February 4th- 8th at the CGS.  

• Our annual  “Jump Rope for Heart” fundraiser begins February 11th.  Our PE teachers, Ms. Hollenbeck and Ms. Pappas have been collaborating with the American Heart Association for this important event.  The event will conclude on February 15th.

De la  CGS

Estamos oficialmente a mitad del año!  Los MCAS daran inicio proximamente, así que me asegurare de enviarle el calendario en las próximas semanas. Aqui les tengo lo que estara sucediendo en el edificio …

• El segundo  “CGS BESTival” fue celebrado el 26 de Enero.  Fue todo un éxito! Los estudiantes y padres participaron en la lectura de historias, juego de BINGO y otras actividades físicas.  Nuestro fantástico coro dio un buen espectáculo.! El compromiso que demostró el personal, los estudiantes y voluntarios demostraron una vez mas por que la CGS es la MEJOR!

• El Viernes, 8 de Febrero es dia de POPCORN!  Los estudiantes disfrutaran de la oportunidad de comprar un refrigerio, y van a disfrutar de una actividad que los enseña sobre el dinero.  

• La escuela cerrará para el receso de Invierno entre las fechas 2/18- 2/22.

• El dentista ambulatorio verá sus pacientes de la CGS el Miércoles 27 de Febrero.

• El 4 de  Febrero será la reunión del  PTO a las 6:00 en la librería.

Para la Escuela Primaria ….

• Las aplicaciones para el Preescolar estarán disponibles entre las fechas Febrero 4- 8 en la CGS.  

• Nuestro evento anual de recaudación de fondos   “Jump Rope for Heart” dará inicio el 11 de Febrero . Nuestros maestros de  PE, Ms. Hollenbeck y Ms. Pappas están colaborando con la Asociación Americana del Corazón para este importante evento . Este evento concluirá el 15 de Febrero.
