Dear Parents and Guardians,

On October 26, the 7th and 8th grade students at the Timony Grammar School will report to the auditorium to hear a presentation called, “No First Time.”  This presentation focuses on educating young people about the dangers of substance abuse and addiction, and supports a strong message of avoiding risky behaviors at all times.  Methuen Public Schools is taking a strong stand against the opiate epidemic by giving our students the knowledge and skills to avoid dangerous drugs and make healthy decisions.  However, you have the right to opt your student out of the presentation.  If you wish to do so, you can send a note with your child stating that you would prefer for your son/daughter not attend the presentation.  Students are not penalized should you choose to opt them out.  For any questions regarding the presentation, you can call Jeff Osgood, Supervisor of Physical Education, Health, FCS and Wellness at 978-722-6000 x1106, or by email at jyosgood@methuen.k12.ma.us.

Sincerely,

Jeff Osgood
