As we continue to reflect upon the events that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut, please be aware of the tight security measures in place at Methuen High School. All school doors are locked. Visitors during the school day must enter and exit through the Main North Door, which has camera monitoring and an entry buzzer and speaker system.
In typical situations prior to being buzzed in, visitors may be asked who they are and the reason for their visit. Once the visitor enters, a greeter will ask for identification and the visitor’s destination. All visitors are required to wear the ID sticker given to them. In addition, those adults signing-out a student must show identification at the main office. To make this process efficient, we recommend that parents update school emergency cards with current phone numbers and names of people allowed to dismiss their student.
We ask all students to honor and strive to meet the highest expectations set for academics, behavior, and school procedures. The Methuen High School aims to produce a safe learning environment that prepares students for higher education and the working world. We are here to assist students and parents through the high school years and beyond. The school always welcomes the support of parents and the school community. The road to success for the students is smoother when families and school work for the same educational goals. We are here for you.
