Jared Reddy Statement: I really want to thank Coach O’Brien for having the faith in me to provide me the great opportunity to compete at UMASS. I know UMASS has an awesome tradition in XC and I am looking forward to trying my best to help the team continue to succeed. Running is such a big part of my life and I am really looking forward to going to the next level. Once I heard about all the guys coach was recruiting, it became the ideal situation for me. Running close to home at the NCAA Division 1 level is a dream come true but also will be a gigantic challenge. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get started. I also want to thank my teachers & coaches at Methuen High, without which, I would never have been able to achieve the success I have been lucky enough to accomplish. I would also be remiss if I did not thank my family: including my parents, grandparents, and brothers & sister for also supporting me. Lastly though, I need to thank my teammates who have been with me every step of the way. My teammates are my best friends and they kept me motivated and pushed me to work hard each and every day of practice. I will forever cherish my running memories at Methuen High and I owe most of this to all of the great people I have had a chance to run with over the last 4 years.
