The National Honor Society and Students Helping Others offered gift wrapping for the staff again this year. Students had a blast donating their time for this festive event!

Thank you to all of our staff, coaches, students and families who have supported our Toy Drive In partnership with Debbie’s Treasure Chest!!!   

The Donald P Timony Grammar School hosted its annual Fall Festival on Thursday, October 26th !  Over 30 MHS students volunteered their time to help with Food Sales, Games, Tattoos, Face Painting, Pumpkin Decorating and Arts and Crafts.   It was a great time for all involved!

Members of the MHS Green Club got together on Saturday September 16, 2017 to volunteer their time to clean up the Spicket River and green way in Lawrence.  The event was sponsored by Ground Work in Lawrence.  MHS students did a fabulous job representing the City of Methuen  and MHS!  We are very proud of their hard work!

Family Friendly Field Day Event, MHS Lower Field, 1 Ranger Rd., Methuen, Bringing the community together to celebrate life and have fun. Face painting, ring toss, arts/crafts, bocce, raffles, dancing, live DJ, Food provided by local restaurants. Free Admission! All are welcome! Proceeds donated to Methuen Public Schools Special Education Dept.

The Methuen Festival of Trees is once again looking for Junior and Senior class members to volunteer their time at the 23rdAnnual Festival of Trees which will run from November 18th through December 3rd this year. The Festival is a 501.c.3 non-profit that raises money to provide grants for historic preservation in Methuen, and all across the Merrimack Valley and Southern NH.


There are many different jobs you can do at the Festival, and several easy ways you can volunteer:


1.    Reply to with your name, address, telephone number, and email. Once you do that, you will receive a usename and password to log on to the Festival Volunteer system, and select your role and date. OR

2.    Log on to the website. Once there, (a) Click, “Get Involved”; (b) Click, “Become a Volunteer”; and (c) Click, “Register Here” using the username Volunteer, and follow the prompts to register for a role and date; OR

3.    See the representative from the Festival who will be at the Colleges, Careers and Community Service Fair here at MHS on Wednesday, October 19th from 1 to 3 pm, and fill out the volunteer form.

Tours:  9 am - 3 pm

Volunteer shifts:  8:00 am- 12:30 pm,   12:00 pm - 4:30 pm

What is behind the walls?  Discover for yourself!

Please consider volunteering for any of these positions:

  1. Indoor Tour Guide- conducts tours from inside the estate.  This requires walking through the building with groups of 20-25 people and talking about the Searles Estate.  (Script provided)

  2. Room Interpreter-  remain in one room and talk to each group about a room as they arrive.   (Script provided)

  3. Outdoor Tour Guide- conducts tours from outside the estate.  This requires walking.    (Script provided)

  4. Chapel and Crypt Guide-  describe features of chapel and lead group down to the crypt.   (Script provided)

  5. Security- maintain a presence on the premises.  Communicate via walkie-talkies.   

  6. Greeter-  meet groups as they come in and give a short introduction about Searles and his estate before turning group over to indoor tour guide.  Must be able to stand outside at the entrance to Pine Lodge.    (Script provided)

  7. Parking-  stand outside and direct guests to available spots on the campus and surrounding properties.  Communicate with shuttle driver in the event guests need assistance.

  8. Ancillary Staff- sell tickets, gift shop, runners, substitutes, etc.!

Trainings: Tues. September 20 at 6 pm and  Sat. September 24 at 9 am.  

All volunteers must attend one of these sessions.

The WGBH FUNFEST, a day of ice cream and music, returns Saturday, July 16 from 10am-4pm at WGBH Studios in Brighton.  This fun-filled community event will feature ice cream from some of your favorite local vendors and live music performances by family-friendly artists.  Kids will have the chance to participate in interactive games and enjoy moonbounce jumping, inflatable rides, and more!  Plus, PBS characters Chirp, Curious George, Arthur, and Buddy from Dinosaur Train will all be available to meet their adoring fans.


Volunteering during FUNFEST is a great way for Methuen High School students to fulfill their community service requirement over the summer, and support their local public media station!


WGBH is expecting 3,000+ attendees and we need your help to ensure that kids of all ages have FUN at FUNFEST.  Please review all FUNFEST volunteer position descriptions and email Volunteer Manager Jaime Reese ( if you would like to help.  Please make sure you include the following information in their email response:

·      Full name

·      Preferred shift: There are FOUR shifts to choose from

o   Set-up day: Friday, July 15 from 2-7pm

o   Event day: Saturday, July 16 (9am-1pm12:30pm-5pm, or 9am-5pm)

·      Top 3 preferred volunteer positions, in order of preference (for event day only)

Attention MHS Students

On April 30 the students of Methuen High School will join forces with the Holy Family Hospital, the Rotary Club, Align Credit Union, the YMCA, and the community to clean up the trail system that runs through the woods between the Holy Family Hospital and Methuen High School.  The goal is to revitalize this once well traveled trail system back to its earlier glory to provide Methuen residents and our students a place to enjoy physical activity and nature.  Please join us from 8:00am - Noon on April 30th.  Sign up in the Timony School Cafeteria and dress ready to clean up!  For more information, contact Jeff Osgood, Supervisor of PE, Health, FCS and Wellness,

Attention MHS Students

Methuen SEPAC will be hosting its 5th annual Recreational and Resource Fair, sponsored by the Methuen Special Education Parent Advisory Council Association. They are in need of volunteers for set up and clean up after the fair. There is also a need for volunteers during the fair for various duties, such as, welcome table, helping with raffles, helping vendors, etc. This is a great opportunity to help out for a great cause and obtain community service hours

 The Methuen Festival of Trees is need of volunteers.   This is a great opportunity to become part of a wonderful event that takes place in our city.  The festival also awards a scholarship for $1000.00 to a graduating Senior who had volunteered sufficient time to the festival.
